Let the kids pick citrus from the grocery store and dehydrate to turn into lovely holiday decorations that look and smell great.
Ingredients
- 2 cara cara or blood oranges
- 2 oranges
- 2 lemons
- 2 limes
- Cooking spray
- 10- 12 whole star anise (optional)
- 2 tbsp whole cloves (optional)
- Twine, for threading
Steps
- Preheat oven to 200°F. Line 2 large baking sheets with parchment. Thinly slice each citrus piece into ½- to ¾-inch-thick slices and place on parchment. Spray with the cooking spray, and press the anise stars and cloves into the citrus for decoration, if desired.
- Bake for 4 hours. Let cool completely. To hang on a Christmas tree, use a toothpick to make a hole at the top and thread with the twine.
