A cheeseburger is transformed into a savory turnover in this fun 5-ingredient recipe. Make them ahead of time for lunch or serve with a salad for a kid-friendly dinner.
Ingredients
- 1 lb 85% lean ground beef
- ½ cup chopped onions
- ¾ cup Cheddar cheese sauce
- 2 (8 oz) pkgs crescent dough sheet or rolls
- ½ cup bread & butter pickle slices, drained
Steps
- Preheat oven to 400°F. To a greased 12-inch skillet over medium, add the ground beef and onions. Cook 8–10 min., until beef is no longer pink. Drain excess oil. Stir in the cheese sauce until combined.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Roll out 1 package crescent dough. If using rolls, press seams of triangles together to form sheet. Cut dough into 3 rows; cut each row into 3 pieces to make a total of 9 pieces. Repeat with second package of crescent dough.
- Divide beef mixture evenly among half of crescent pieces. Place 1–2 pickle slices on each. Place remaining crescent pieces on top. Seal outside edges with a fork. Bake 8–10 min., until pockets are golden and heated through.
