- 1 pouch KRUSTEAZ (17.5 oz) sugar cookie mix
- 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
- ½ cup (1 stick) butter or margarine, softened
- 1 egg yolk
- 3 Twizzlers Strawberry Twist Candies
- 1 (16 oz) can Pillsbury chocolate frosting
- 1 tbsp Hershey's Premier white chips
- REESE'S PIECES Candy, Twizzler's Pull n' Peel, sprinkles, colored sugars, or other small candies for garnish (optional)
- Line cookie sheets with parchment paper. Draw around hands to form turkey shape. (The hands of small children make the easiest cookies to handle.) Cut shape out of card stock or heavy paper.
- Heat oven to 350°F. Stir together cookie mix and flour; add butter and egg yolk. Stir until crumbly; work with hands until dough forms a ball. (Dough will feel very much like pie dough.)
- Divide dough into 6 equal balls. One ball at a time, roll or flatten between two sheets of wax paper until approximately 1/4 inch thick and large enough for your hand pattern. Remove top sheet of wax paper. Place pattern on dough; trace around pattern and remove pattern. Pick up dough and wax paper; flip onto prepared cookie sheet. Remove wax paper; pull away extra dough to rework for more cookies. Reshape cookie edges if necessary. About 4 cookies will fit easily on one cookie sheet.
- Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until edges are a light golden brown. Cool 3 to 5 minutes; slide parchment paper with cookies to wire rack. Repeat until all cookies are baked. Cool cookies completely.
- Cut strawberry twists into narrow strips about 1 inch in length for turkey beards. Frost tops of cookies. For each turkey eye break off tip of white chip; push chip into frosting so that flat side is up. Place dot of frosting in center of chip to finish eye. Add TWIZZLER turkey beard. Garnish turkey feathers as desired with REESE'S PIECES, sprinkles, colored sugars or other small candies. Yield will depend on size of hand pattern used. Makes about 14 (5-inch) turkey cookies.
